As I’m sure you already know, Beauty and the Beast opened to a, well, how do I say this? Success? Haha, just a little bit. Moviegoers spent $188.5M to be the guest of Belle and her friends over the last four days. How good is that number? It’s on pace for the largest movie of 2017, to outpace Finding Dory, and only find a real rival once the new Star Wars comes out in December.
What does that mean? That Disney only gets ridiculously stronger, seeing how they own Star Wars and all, too. They’re dominating the box office, but not just with mediocre movies. Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a 70% Fresh Rating with a critics consensus that says, “With an enchanting cast, beautifully crafted songs, and a painterly eye for detail, Beauty and the Beast offers a faithful yet fresh retelling that honors its beloved source material.” Well said, RT.
If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t worry…I doubt the Belle and Beast freight train will slow down any time soon. Find it in theaters everywhere now. Grown men cry in this film. I mean, c’mon.
Just wait for the next post to see what else is happening in the Beauty and the Beast world…
