Show Description

The Disney Channel's animated teen fantasy/comedy series American Dragon: Jake Long follows the escapades of the teen title character who has the ability to transform himself into dragon-form. American Dragon is the brainchild of playwright and screen and TV writer Jeff Goode.

An otherwise normal teenager, struggling to deal with the everyday adolescent challenges he encounters, Jake has developed a massive crush on a classmate, Rose, who unbeknownst to him, also has a secret skill. Rose's talent lies in the art of dragon slaying, which eventually leads the pair to a series of encounters. As it turns out, Jake's ancestors have chosen him to carry on the tradition of the mystical legendary dragons and have arranged for his maternal grandfather to provide Jake's training. Lending occasional comic relief is Fu Dog, a no-nonsense Shar-Pei who's the grandfather's constant companion.

Dante Basco provides the voice of Jake, while Keone Young voices the irascible, yet lovable gradfather. Several noted performers make guest appearances, including Tia Carrere, Lacey Chabert, Monty Hall, Edie McClurg and David Ogden Stiers.
