Escape to Witch Mountain

The 1975 Disney production, Escape From Witch Mountain, is adapted from the Alexander Key novel about a set of psychic twins who desperately want to discover their origins.
Fast-paced, almost to a fault at times, Escape To Witch Mountain relies quite a bit on the "unspoken" communications between the twins, frequently requiring explanations which bog things down. The plot is fairly straightforward, however, and a large, competent cast manages to keep the action moving.
The climactic finale reveals that the twins are actually extra-terrestrials, forced to flee their own dying planet in the hopes of finding a suitable planet to re-populate their species.
Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann as the twins are a winning pair, with other pivotal cast members being Eddie Albert, Ray Milland, Donald Pleasence, Denver Pyle and Reta Shaw.
John Hough directed in his typical "British" style, heavy on dialogue, character development and background, while Johnny Mandel's brisk score helps to move the film along.
