The fantasy-comedy film Gordy relates the story of a piglet (the title character) who goes on a search for his family to try and rescue them before they meet a gruesome fate at a slaughterhouse. Directed by Mark Lewis, Gordy stars Doug Stone, Tom Lester, Kristy Young and James Donadio.
Happy-go-lucky Gordy leads a carefree existence on a rural Arkansas farm, but his idyllic life is turned upside down when his father is exported from the farm, supposedly to be sent to slaughter. Gordy sets off on a quest to find his father but fails, only to return and discover that the remainder of his family has also been taken away, presumably to face the same fate. Gordy sets off once more, but this time he encounters a traveling family of country singers who "adopt" him. Through a series of misadventures, Gordy becomes a hero due to his efforts in saving a young boy from drowning.
Eventually, Gordy becomes embroiled in a kidnapping, is honored by the President of the U.S., and not unexpectedly, is reunited with his family following a lengthy nationwide search.
