Never A Dull Moment

A plot to steal Van Gogh's masterpiece work "Field of Sunflowers" is the centerpiece around which Walt Disney Productions 1968 Never A Dull Moment revolves. Dick Van Dyke is at his befuddled, slapstick best as an actor mistaken for a killer who is chosen to lead the artwork caper. Having no choice but to go along since he is unable to convince his captors otherwise, Van Dyke finds his predicament doubly dangerous when the REAL killer appears.
Screen legend Edward G. Robinson plays (surprise!) a gangster who is bankrolling the project. The iconic Robinson portrays a caricature of the character he became notorious for, but is effective nonetheless.
Never A Dull Moment is directed by Jerry Paris, a long-time protege of Van Dyke's. Besides playing Rob Petrie's dentist neighbor on the classic Dick Van Dyke Show TV series, Paris also directed more than 200 episodes of another long-running TV series, Happy Days.
