Produced and directed by Ocar winner Brad Bird (who also co-wrote the screenplay with Damon Lindelof, co-creator and writer of TV's "Lost"), the sci-fi fantasy adventure Tomorrowland is a Walt Disney Studios production that's a bit of a diversion from most Disney releases.
Starring George Clooney as a former science prodigy turned jaded, Hugh Laurie as the primary antagonist, and Britt Robertson as an ever-optimistic and curious teenager, the film tackles alternate dimensions that may or may not contain the future well-being of Earth. Via flashbacks, the audience is brought up to date regarding the history of the individuals involved in the shadowy alter-dimension and their efforts to solve the mysteries it contains.
Spectacular special effects involving time and space travel, renegade robots and androids are jaw-dropping, dovetailing seamlessly with a storyline involving a race both against time and the evil intentions of David Nix (Laurie) who values technological advancement above all else.
